WITH drying, breezy conditions, Five Lakes played the fourth round of this year’s Winter League on the lakes course.
Three pairs scored 39 points to be just outside the main prizes, Richard Hardy-King and Chris Hamblion, John Mayle and Ian Cottee along with Nigel Popper and Dave Chignell.
Third place went to Mark Ponder and Mike Owen, with 40 points.
Second place went to Mark Harlow and Lee Stafford, scoring 25 points on their front nine holes, finishing with 42 and losing on countback to winners Alan Garnett and Peter Dunnett, with 22 points on their back nine holes.
Birdie balls were won by Frank Taylor and Mark Harlow on the fourth, Chris Hamblion on the eighth and Paul Bowers on the 16th.
