BERTIE Brayley is hoping his Burnham Ramblers side can bounce back after their disappointing defeat at Harlow Town.

Ryman League division one north basement-side Ramblers were holding leaders Harlow 2-2 with minutes to go on Saturday.

However, they were then reduced to ten-men after Ricky Evans was sent-off for a second yellow card and Harlow pounced to score on 89 minutes and deep in injury-time to snatch victory.

However, Brayley is confident that his side can be boosted by their performance at Harlow ahead of the visit of seventh-placed Dereham Town on Saturday.

Brayley, whose side were leading 2-1 at half-time against Harlow, said: “We have three games in a row at home now and it is vital that we get something from them.

“The boys can take a lot of confidence from the Harlow game.

“Obviously they were very disappointed with the result but I don’t think you could tell in the match who was top and who was bottom of the division.

“Back in November we were beaten 8-0 by Wroxham, we are a different, stronger side now.

“We were thrashed by Dereham at the start of the season but it won’t be like that now.

“The way we played at Harlow shows that and I expect a battling performance from the boys who should be boosted by Saturday’s performance despite the result.”
