MALDON and Tiptree boss Alan Kimble is urging his players to keep cool heads and avoid needless suspensions.

The club have been rocked by four sendings-off in their last three games, with Max Lette-Jallow seeing red in Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Ware.

It came hot on the heels of Cliff Akurang being sent off against Harlow and both Gavin Greenfield and Joshua Oyinsan being given their marching orders against Barkingside.

Kimble said certain players had let the club down and wants the rest of his squad to keep calm and be mindful of more unwanted bans.

“It’s fair to say I’m concerned,” said the former Wimbledon defender.

“Experienced players let themselves, me and the club down and I can’t accept it. I’d never stop anyone being competitive or getting stuck in, but there’s a right way to go about it.

“My squad isn’t the biggest and now I’m going to have players missing at a key time, over Christmas.

“I’ll be talking to all my players about their discipline, because I need as many available as possible.”

Maldon’s strong form – just two defeats in eight Ryman League division one north matches – came to an abrupt halt at Ware.

“They were better than us in every department,” said Kimble. “We just didn’t turn up and I can only put it down as a very bad day at the office. We conceded silly, unacceptable goals.

“But it’s how you bounce back that counts and we’re looking forward to a very big game against Great Wakering on Saturday.

“If we win we’ll go five clear of them but if we lose they’ll go above us.”
