Heybridge Swifts were held to a draw by visiting Tilbury.

Swifts, who parted company with manager Keith Wilson last Thursday, battled to a 2-2 draw at Scraley Road.

Heybridge’s director of football Wayne Bond took charge of the team for the Ryman League division one north match.

And it was a great start for the home side when Billy Hunt opened the scoring on two minutes firing home from ten yards after being set up by Joe Pearman.

The Dockers looked to get back in the game when Danny Sambridge saved with his legs from Jack West on 11 minutes.

But ten minutes later the visitors were back on equal terms when Joe Nightingill tapped in from a corner.

Jon Glowacki then had a shot for Swifts that went just wide on 39 minutes.

And it was the home side that took the lead on the stroke of half-time when Neil Richmond headed home after getting on the end of a Pearman free-kick.

Heybridge made a bright start to the second half when Richmond’s shot just went out of the post after he ran onto a through ball.

Pearman went close to adding a second goal on 68 minutes but his effort went wide.

And Pearman then had a shout for a penalty after going down in the box but the referee waved away the appeals.

But it was the Dockers who scored next to level the match when Matt Game fired in through a crowd of players from the edge of the area on 75 minutes.

Tilbury then pressured the home goal but Swifts held on to salvage a point.

However, the result saw Heybridge drop into the relegation places.

It wasn’t a good afternoon for Maldon and Tiptree as they went down 4-0 at Ware.

And for the third game in a row they ended the match without 11 men on the pitch after they picked up another red card.

The home side took the lead on ten minutes through Ryan Wade.

Ware then doubled their advantage seven minutes later through Kieran Bishop.

After the break, the Jammers were reduced to ten men on 64 minutes when Maxi Lette-Jallow was sent off.

It got worse for Maldon on 57 minutes when Bishop added his second of the match.

Khale Da Costa put the icing on the cake for Ware on 77 minutes when he scored their fourth.

Brightlingsea Regent also fell to defeat as they lost out 2-0 against visiting Chatham Town.

Two goals in each half from Junior Kaffo, on 30 and 79 minutes, sealed the points for the visitors.

Burnham Ramblers surrendered a two-goal lead in a manic final ten minutes as they went down to a 4-3 defeat against visiting Redbridge.

The visitors took an early lead on four minutes when Jacob Cleaver put them in front.

However, Kye Jude put the Ramblers back on level terms on 23 minutes.

After the break, the home side took the lead through Isaac Aubynn on 59 minutes.

Emmanuel Johnson then put Burnham further in front four minutes later.

But on 80 minutes Cleaver began the Redbridge fight back pulling a goal back.

Mark Nougher then equalised from the penalty spot four minutes later.

And on 88 minutes Redbridge snatched victory when Vinny Murphy scored their fourth goal.

In the Ryman premier division, ten man Witham Town didn’t have a good day as they fell to a 4-0 defeat at Grays Athletic.

Ten minutes before the break Witham’s Conor Mead was sent off.

The home side made the most of their advantage in the second half firing in four unanswered goals Kenny Beaney made the breakthrough on 52 minutes before Freddie Ladapo made it 2-0 two minutes later.

Dumebi Dumaka added a third goal on 62 minutes before Ladapo rounded off the scoring on 86 minutes.
