NEW Maldon and Tiptree boss Alan Kimble has told his players he wants honesty and a professional attitude from them.

Former Wimbledon defender Kimble, along with assistant Anwar Uddin, were appointed last week.

Kimble has been brought in to turn around Maldon’s poor run of form which has seen them lose their last eight games.

He said: “What I want from my players is honesty.

“This is a clean slate for all the players I have inherited from the old regime.

“All of them will be given a chance to show us what they have got.

“The thing that me and Anwar want to do is progress and take the club forward.

“And if the boys don’t want to be on that bus then we can shake hands and part company.”

The Jammers lost 4-1 in their Ryman League division one north match at Redbridge on Saturday, under the watchful eye of Uddin, before Kimble took charge for Tuesday night’s Robert Dyas League Cup match against twin brother Garry’s Witham Town.

Witham went through thanks to a 1-0 win.

Nevertheless, Kimble said: “I couldn’t ask any more from my players.

“They gave me everything they have got.

“They were willing and showed desire but sometimes our final ball and set-pieces could have been better.

“That was especially the case in the first half when we won a number of corners but didn’t get on the end of one of them.

“It’s another loss, but there are encouraging signs and I’ve had a chance to see every player now.

“There will be a little bit of work to be done between now and next Saturday when we have got an FA Trophy game against Hythe.”
