Maldon and Tiptree suffered a home defeat at the hands of Wroxham.

They lost 2-1 in the Ryman League division one north encounter on Tuesday night.

Wroxham had the early pressure and they made the breakthrough on 21 minutes through Jamie Forshaw.

Remy Gordon put Wroxham 2-0 on 70 minutes after poor defending in the home box.

Jack Stevenson then threw Maldon a lifeline on 86 minutes when pulled a goal back.

Ollie Berquez then went close to grabbing an equaliser but his header went just over.

Maldon, however, couldn’t gain a share of the spoils.

Heybridge Swifts secured a much needed win at Waltham Abbey.

They grabbed a 2-1 win on Tuesday night.

Swifts took the lead when Billy Hunt headed home a Farthing cross on seven minutes.

Hunt had another chance from 35 yards but it went just wide and followed up with two more shots that were blocked by the defence.

But Abbey pulled level on 40 minutes when Tom Bruno hit a free-kick that clipped the post before going in.

However, Swifts restored their lead just before half-time through when Steve Good headed home from a corner.

Abbey went close to equalise soon after half-time when Jason Hallett hit the post.

Brightlingsea Regent fell to a 2-1 defeat at Dereham Town.

The home side took the lead on nine minutes when Toby Hilliard scored the opener.

Craig Bussens doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time.

However, Regent pulled a goal back on 58 minutes through Jake Holman but it wasn’t enough.

Burnham Ramblers were held to a 0-0 draw at Cheshunt.

Witham Town fell to a 2-1 defeat at Margate in their Ryman League premier division.

Margate opened the scoring on five minutes through Ryan Moss.

They doubled their lead on 33 minutes when Tom Phipp scored.

But Witham pulled one back through Kurt Smith on 59 minutes but couldn’t find an equaliser.
