Heybridge Swifts were involved in a dramatic finish against Cheshunt.

Swifts were trailing 1-0 at Scraley Road to a late goal before Jamie Guy hit an 89th minute equaliser to grab a point from their Ryman One North encounter on Tuesday night.

Heybridge had the better of the early chances with Dumaka sending a looping lob over the keeper only to hit the post.

Dumaka then went close with a header on 21 minutes that just went wide of the post.

And it was Dumaka again, on 25 minutes, with a first-time shot that the keeper managed to turn around the post after good work from Ben Newson.

David Wareham was the next to go close when his header from a corner crashed against the bar.

Allen Bossman then fired an 18-yard shot in for Cheshunt but it flashed past the post.

Cheshunt ended the first half strongly looking for the opening goal.

After the break, Swifts keeper Danny Sambridge did well to keep out a rasping shot from Omar Riza.

Dumaka then had an effort for Swifts spilled by the Cheshunt keeper but the ball went out for a corner.

But Sambridge was then called on again to keep Cheshunt out when he saved a Bossman effort.

Cheshunt were then denied by the crossbar when Will Holmes’ shot hit the woodwork.

Then Sambridge had to make a double save from Ted Llewellyn before the defence cleared the ball.

Sambridge was the hero again with a flying save to deny Josh Cooper and then Riza with the follow up.

And it was the visitors who broke the deadlock on 84 minutes through Mete Sem.

But Swifts had a chance to equalise almost immediately when they were awarded a penalty.

Jamie Guy’s spot kick was saved but he smashed home the rebound to level the scores on 89 minutes.
