This year’s challenge to race along the Maldon district’s coastline has attracted fitness fans from as far away as Scotland.
Maldon District Council workers Jono Stevens and Roy Read helped set up the Saltmarsh 75 race last year after enjoying walking different sections and marvelling at the scenery.
After the first event saw more than 100 people tackle the two-day course, this year’s race is looking to be bigger and better than before as organisers have doubled the entry limit.
The challenge, which takes place on October 4 and 5, has already attracted entrants from Scotland, Tyne and Wear, Derbyshire, Warrington and Wiltshire, as well as the Maldon district.
