Heybridge Swifts came out on top in a seven-goal thriller at Barrows Farm Stadium.

Heybridge Swifts claimed a 4-3 Ryman League division one north win against Harlow Town on Tuesday night.

The home side took an early lead when Darren Blewitt put the ball in the back of the net from close range on three minutes.

Heybridge went on the attack in an attempt to grab an equaliser and Dumebi Dumaka went close a couple of times.

However, Junior Dadson also had an effort on target for Harlow but it was too close to Ashley Harrison in the Swifts goal.

Dumaka then forced a save out of Harlow keeper James May with a low volley which he pushed behind.

But Swifts were back on terms on 15 minutes when Reece Morgan got on the end of Ben Newson’s cross.

Newson then almost put Swifts in front but his shot just curled wide.

Harlow then pulled two good saves from Harrison as they tried to reassert their authority.

From a corner the home side went back in front when Joe O’Donoghue scrambled the ball into the net on 21 minutes.

Darren Blewitt then almost increased the home side’s lead but fired over the bar.

Heybridge then grabbed an equaliser when Robbie King headed in a free-kick from close range on 43 minutes.

Alex Read almost put Harlow back in front immediately when he burst through the defence but he fired his shot into the side netting.

After the break, Swifts gained the advantage when Danny Hopkins played in Dumebi and he hit Swifts third on 53 minutes.

Harlow then had a penalty appeal waved away before Swifts were awarded a spot kick at the other end.

And it was King who put Swifts 4-2 ahead by sending May the wrong way with his penalty kick on 61 minutes.

Heybridge Swifts went close to making hit five when they headed against the bar.

Harlow pressed to get back into the game and in injury-time Alex Read hit the post with a free-kick and the ball was cleared for a corner.

However, from the corner Stanley Muguo scored to set up a dramatic finish.

But it was too late for the home side and Swifts held on for the win.
