Maldon and Tiptree were held to a 1-1 draw at AFC Sudbury.
The visitors took the lead in the 25th minute from the penalty spot.
Sudbury’s Josh Carus handled the ball in the box and Bradley Hunter coolly fired the spot-kick home.
Maldon went close to extending their lead three minutes later when Bradley Gardner was through on goal but keeper Alex Archer saved well with his legs.
Just before half-time the home side made it 1-1.
Ryan Henshaw’s shot from the edge of the area took a deflection taking the ball bast keeper Jason Willis.
Maldon came close to taking all three points when Gardner hit the bar on 60 minutes.
However, the visitors had to settle for a share of the spoils.
