Burnham Ramblers knockout Maldon and Tiptree in a goal-fest

IT was another goal-fest at Park Drive.
Visiting Burnham Ramblers won their Robert Dyas League Cup second round tie 4-3 against Maldon and Tiptree on Tuesday night
But it was the hosts who took the lead on 18 minutes through Jack Stevenson.
However, the lead didn’t last long as a minute later Ramblers equalised when a free-kick was fired straight at Maldon keeper Adam Seals and it slipped through his hands and into the net.
Then the home side retook the lead on 35 minutes as Bradley Vaughan flicked in at then back post, the ball was cleared but the linesman ruled it had crossed the line.
But again Maldon were unable to hold onto their lead for long.
Keeper Seals brought down the Burnham forward in the box and the visitors’ Neil Richmond scored from the penalty spot on 37 minutes.
After the break, it was the visitors who again took the lead again when Jay Nash scored on 64 minutes.
But Maldon were back on level terms on 73 minutes when Brad Hunter played in Chris Bryan who smashed the ball in the net.
But Burnham secured the win on 82 minutes when Jay Nash fired home.
