Maldon and Tiptree storm back to secure victory
1:25pm Sunday 24th February 2013 in Local Sport
MALDON and Tiptree looked dead and buried against Chatham Town but came back to record an excellent win.
Maldon were 3-1 down with ten minutes left on the clock against visiting Chatham Town but stormed back to win 4-3 in their Ryman League division one north match.
The visitors took the lead inside the first two minutes through Taylor McDonagh.
Maldon and Tiptree equalised after 38 minutes through Chris Bryan.
The visitors scored a second goal after 42 minutes again from McDonagh. On 65 minutes, the visitors shocked Maldon when McDonagh completed his hat-trick.
Maldon threw everything at Chatham and finally got their reward on 81 minutes when Bryan’s cross was fired home by James Robinson.
On 89 minutes, Robinson was the man in the right place again as he hit home Jamie Guy’s header from Lewis Dark’s free-kick.
The comeback was completed after five added minutes when Dark hit a 20-metre low, hard drive into the corner of the goal.
