TIPTREE Road Runners have secured promotion to the top tier of the 53-12 cross-country league.

A clean sweep of the team events at the final fixture at Hadleigh claimed the Pool B title.

It’s a tribute to the enthusiasm and commitment of the club’s coaching squad that Tiptree were able to field 35 different runners during the season, with four completing all six league races and a further eight missing just one race.

The runners completing all six races were Tracy Harrington, Tina Clarke, Rose Haskey-Jones and Simon Morgan.

First home for the club at Hadleigh was Sean Ketteridge, in 19th place, with James Haskey-Jones, 44th, Craig Dawson, 55th and Simon Morgan, 65th completing the men’s scoring team.

Paul Dellar (67th), Andrew Conway (71st) and Adam Richardson (74th) packed well behind the scoring team, with Jamie Fairful completing another top 100 finish in 89th place.

The men’s team was completed by Mark Lawes (110th), Rob Hadgraft (113th), Jim Slater (120th), Anthony Knight (121st), Marcos Morley (133rd) and Jeff Fairfull (140th).

In the ladies race, Tracy Harrington (15th) and Vicky Knight (16th) completed their consistent season of top-20 finishes, while Tina Clarke equalled her second highest position in 32nd.

Wendy Smalley (72nd) and Rose Haskey-Jones (75th) gave great support throughout the season.
