WAYNE Bond has been appointed director of football at Heybridge Swifts.
The position has been created as a sign of the club’s commitment to developing young players, having recently entered the Ryman Under-21 League.
Bond will oversee the progression of their best talent, working closely with both the senior and youth sections of the club.
“It’s a big responsibility but I’m excited and looking forward to getting started,” said the former first-team boss.
“Heybridge is special to me and I like the idea of helping create a legacy, by developing a well-oiled system that will hopefully continue for years.”
Bond had been working as chief scout at the club before taking charge of their reserves.
Phil Yearling will now take control of the second string until the end of the season.
Swifts visit Brentwood on Saturday.
