Heybridge Swifts move back into second spot
1:02pm Sunday 6th January 2013 in Local Sport
Heybridge Swifts’ 4-0 win against visiting Waltham Forest, and Grays Athletic’s 4-1 defeat to Cheshunt, saw them back up to second in the Ryman League divisision one north table.
Swifts were in rampant form at Scraley Road. Michael Cheek opened the scoring on 18 minutes when he got on the end of a Luke Callander pass.
The home side went 2-0 up in the 37th minute when Solomon Ofori fired home.
Swifts made it 3-0 just before the break when T J Amass’s raking pass from halfway found leading goal-scorer Callander and he made no mistake in front of goal.
Forest tried to play their way back into the match in the second half but Callander had the final word 14 minutes from time when he grabbed his second and Maldon’s fourth.
