Heybridge Swifts lost 3-1 defeat to visiting Brentwood Town.
But Swifts will be regretting a missed second-half penalty that would have brought the score to 2-2.
In a fast-paced Ryman League division one north game it was the visitors who took the lead at Scraley Road.
Brentwood opened the scoring in the 44th minute, a Darren Blewitt corner found Abs Seymour who fired home from close range.
The visitors went further ahead when a sliced cross found its way to Alex Read who tapped in with Heybridge claiming the ball had gone out of play.
With 20 minutes left Swifts managed to get themselves back in the game when Ben Newson reduced the deficit.
The home side could have then found themselves back on level terms but Michael Cheek’s penalty attempt was fired high and wide.
With nine minutes left Brentwood made the game safe when Read added his second of the match.
