Tiptree Runners open up a clear lead

TIPTREE Road Runners have taken a clear lead in Pool B of the 53-12 cross-country league.

The ladies won their team event and the men placed second at Halstead.

Tracy Harrington led the ladies’ team home in 16th, with Vicky Knight finishing 19th and Tina Clarke 40th.

Wendy Smalley improved her position to 72nd while Jo Oakley completed her first cross-country in 75th place.

Dawn Shilling finished 76th and Rose Haskey-Jones 78th.

Sean Ketteridge made his cross-country debut for the club in 23rd place, followed by Craig Dawson (38th), James Haskey-Jones (59th) and Simon Morgan (62nd) completing the scoring team.

Paul Dellar continued his improvement in the league, finishing 69th, with Ted Skinner in 92nd.

Good team support came from Phill Clarke (103rd), Jamie Fairfull (107th), Andy Golding (124th), Jim Slater (139th), Anthony Knight (140th), Peter Bouldstridge (149th) and Jeff Fairfull (157th).

Abigail Morgan finished 40th in the junior event.
