HEYBRIDGE Swifts boss Mark Hawkes believes his in-form side can still overhaul Ryman One North leaders Maldon & Tiptree.
The latter are in imperious form and have a ten-point lead at the top of the table.
Swifts are second, buoyed by Saturday’s stunning 5-0 success at Romford.
And Hawkes believes his team still have every chance of catching their rivals.
Asked if he thought Maldon can be toppled, he said: “Of course.
“Every team in this division will lose games at some stage.
“And if they do stay unbeaten from start to finish, we’ll just have to take our hats off to them, because it will be a tremendous effort.
“However, I feel that’s highly unlikely and if and when they do slip up, teams like ourselves have to take full advantage.
“There’s a little pack of us and no-one wants to slip up.
“We’ve just got to keep going.”
