ADRIAN Grubb's triumph in the final round was just enough to secure overall honours for him in the seniors' Memorial Eclectic Plate at the Essex Golf and Country Club.

Taking third place in the last of the four rounds was David Adams, with 37 points, while second place, with 38 points, was Jim Duignan.

However, the winner on the day, with an incredible 40 points, was 11 handicapper Grubb and that proved enough to give him the overall title on countback.

Grubb took the silverware with 50 points, just edging Peter Pidlisnyj into second spot.

Nearest the pin on the 145 yard par three 11th in the final round was Ray Mabbutt.
