STOKE by Nayland Golf Club's Sue Lathem has booked her place in the Grand Finals of England Golf's Medal Winners competition.

She finished second out of a field 93 in the Regional Finals at Bedford Golf Club with a nett 74, finishing just one shot off the day's Competition Scratch Score.

As a result of finishing within the top-ten players, she will now progress to the Grand Finals to be played at Frilford Heath on August 16.

Stoke by Nayland Ladies enjoyed a sunny day for their annual Spring Meeting on the Constable course.

Nearly 50 players took part, with the morning medal competition split into two divisions.

The Salcombe Salver for Silver players was awarded to Nora Hutchinson with a nett 74.

Hilary Cairns won the Suzetta Platt Cup for the Bronze Division, with a nett 77.

The afternoon Greensomes were won on the front nine with 17 points by Mandy Byham and Suzanne Shaw-Smith.

It was Shaw-Smith's first competition day after breaking her wrist.

The back nine was won by Roz Clements and new member Jill Pottle, with 23 points.
