THERE were plenty of medals and personal bests for Colchester Swimming Club, at Halstead’s Short Course Open Meet.

Massimo Girolami claimed the nine-year-old Top Boy award at the event, in Braintree.

He was first in the 200 metres freestyle (with a 14-second PB) and 50m breaststroke, second in the 100m Individual Medley, 50m freestyle (with a 15-second PB), 50m butterfly and third in the 50m backstroke.

Harrison Brook won silver in the 50m breaststroke (PB) and 100m IM bronze (21-second PB).

Anjali Tuckwell won 50m breaststroke (pb) silver and earned bronze in the 100m IM and 50m butterfly (PB) and a 50m backstroke PB.

Isaac Farrugia was second in the 50m and 100m butterfly and third in the 200m freestyle (10 year olds category).

In the girls' 11-year-old age group, Sadie Rowe won 50m breaststroke gold, 50m butterfly silver and achieved further PBs in the 100m freestyle.

Sophie Baker won gold in the 200m freestyle (PB), silver in the 100m breaststroke (PB) and bronze in the 50m breaststroke, along with earning 100m butterfly and 50m backstroke PBs.

Evie Scott earned 200m freestyle bronze (PB) and a 100m breaststroke PB, while Isobel Easteal claimed 100m butterfly silver and a 50m backstroke PB.

In the 12-year-old category, Daniel Himsworth won 50m backstroke gold (PB) and 50m freestyle silver.

Felix Szpakowski won 200m freestyle silver (PB) and 100m butterfly (PB) bronze, along with 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle PBs.

Antonio Girolami was second in the 100m breaststroke (PB) and achieved further bests in the 50m backstroke, 50m and 100m freestyle.

Ruby Chalmers earned bronze in the 100m breaststroke (PB) and 50m freestyle and PBs in the 50m butterfly, 50m breaststroke and 100m freestyle.

Lotti Talbot won 100m backstroke gold (PB) in the 13-year-age category and 50m backstroke (PB) bronze, along with PBs in the 50m and 100m butterfly.

Hannah O'Malley won 50m breaststroke (PB) gold and registered two further PBs in the 100m freestyle and 50m backstroke.

George Wallace won 50m backstroke (PB) bronze as well as recording PBs in the 100m breaststroke and 50m freestyle. William Easteal won bronze in both the 50m and 200m freestyle and achieved PBs in all four 50m disciplines.

In the 14 year old age group, Christopher Thompson won gold in the 50m and 100m breaststroke and 100m backstroke (both PBs).

He also won the silver in the 50m backstroke (PB) and recorded further PBs in 50m and 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly.

Joseph Guild won the 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle (both PBs) and 100m backstroke (PB) silver along with PBs in the 50m and 100m breaststroke.

Sam Toon won 100m breaststroke (PB) bronze and claimed PBs in the 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle.

Cole Scott claimed 50m butterfly (PB) gold and a 50m freestyle PB, while Owen Williams won 200m freestyle gold and 100m butterfly silver.

In the girls' 15 year age group, Niamh Higgins secured gold in the 50m (PB) and 100m butterfly, as well as the 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle.

She also won silver in the 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke (both PBs) and Sophie Talbot came second in the 100m backstroke and third in the 50m backstroke.

Nuha Van Der Schyff took 100m backstroke bronze and recorded a 100m butterfly PB while Ruby Watson won 100m IM bronze and recorded PBs in the 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle and 100m breaststroke.

In the 16 plus category, Alexander Tinnion won gold in the 100m backstroke and bronze in both the 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle.

Isaac Pavey also won bronze in the 50m and 100m butterfly and registered two further PBs, in the 50m and 100m freestyle.
