CHELMSFORD City came from behind three times to salvage a point against fellow promotion hopefuls Hemel Hempstead Town.

Goals from Chris Dickson, Anthony Church and Dan Green ensured it was honours even between the National League South’s fourth and fifth placed sides.

Having controlled large parts of the opening 25 minutes, Chelmsford fell behind when David Moyo rose well and sent a header beyond Jake Jessup between the posts.

But four minutes later it was all square. Dickson, who had already seen one effort ruled out for offside, was played through and he finished assuredly.

Back came Hemel. Ten minutes before half-time the Clarets conceded another headed goal, Spencer McCall’s effort sneaking in at the far post.

A similar pattern was to emerge as the Clarets levelled up before the interval.

Taylor Miles’s corner was met by Church and the game was all square once again.

Hemel began the second period well and having missed two good chance they did take the lead for a third time on 54 minutes.

Jessup failed to deal with a free-kick and Ismail Yakubu was on hand to net from close range.

Chances came and went for both teams but, as they did last week, Chelmsford found a late goal.

Substitute Green netted impressively with five minutes to go to ensure a point.
