BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT maintained their strong home form with a 2-0 success against Kingstonian tonight.

The R’s have now won their last four Bostik League premier division matches at the Taydal Stadium and this victory came courtesy of an own goal and a well-taken strike from Aaron Condon.

Both came in the first half, within three minutes of each other.

First, Connor Hogan’s right-wing cross was inadvertently headed into his own net by Aaron Goode.

Then Condon beat his man, cut inside and fired a low, left-foot shot beyond keeper Ron Telfrey.

Billy Hunt went close to adding a third but his stunning long-range effort came back off the bar.

After the game it was confirmed that R’s boss James Webster is stepping down in order to take over at Aveley.

Elsewhere, WITHAM TOWN grabbed a last-gasp leveller to draw 2-2 with Bury Town.

Cemal Ramadan and Bradley Barber netted in quick succession for the Suffolk side.

Usman Adeniji pulled one back early in the second half and Thomas Robinson equalised in the 90th minute for Adam Flint’s men.

There were a couple of games of note in the Thurlow Nunn League.

STANWAY ROVERS defeated Saffron Walden 4-1 in the premier division, thanks to second-half goals from Jordan Barnett (two), Moris Gelashvili and Joe Heron.

Saffron Walden pulled one back in the latter stages.

In division one, LITTLE OAKLEY drew 1-1 at home to Cornard United.

Stephen Polley put the Acorns ahead, from Harry Mann’s cross.

However, Cornard were quickly on level terms and that was the way it stayed.

There is a big game in the premier division on Wednesday night, when WIVENHOE TOWN play host to Ipswich Wanderers at the GMP Plant Hire Stadium.

The sides are second from bottom and fourth from bottom respectively.
