WIVENHOE TOWN are hoping for a bumper crowd to cheer them on to victory tonight.

The club have confirmed that there will be free entry for their Thurlow Nunn League premier division contest at home to Haverhill Rovers (kick-off 7.45pm).

Spectators may make a donation if they wish, but there will be no charge to get into the ground.

Wivenhoe have to win to give themselves any chance of clambering out of the bottom three.

They are third from bottom at the moment and five points behind Hadleigh United.

Maximum points tonight will therefore give them some hope, heading into the final round of matches on Saturday.

Wivenhoe's last match is at newly-crowned champions Mildenhall, while Hadleigh bring the curtain down on their season at home to Great Yarmouth.

Technically, the bottom three face relegation but there is the chance of a reprieve, depending on the constitution for next season.

Elsewhere, it's a huge night for MALDON AND TIPTREE.

The Jammers are preparing for their Ryman League division north play-off semi-final at home to Haringey Borough.

Tonight's other match is between Thurrock and AFC Hornchurch, with the final then taking place on Sunday.

Maldon were runners-up in division north, finishing two points above Thurrock but 12 behind champions Brightlingsea Regent.

STANWAY ROVERS are hosting the Essex Pelly Under-18s Cup tonight.

The county contest is between Brentwood Town and Concord Rangers.

The action gets underway at 7.45pm, at The Hawthorns.
