A FULL field of 87 men played for the Hamilton Scratch Medal and Alfred Symes Cup at Frinton Golf Club, on Good Friday.

Kevin Smith won the Hamilton medal with a gross score of 72.

In the nett competition, Murray Northover came out on top with a great score of 66.

Iain Quick was just behind him with 67.

Two men finished with 68, with Mark Smith awarded third place on countback ahead of Adrian Joshua.

The ladies played for the McMillan Spoon, an 18-hole singles stableford, and Lyn Lawrence won it with a score of 39 points.

Two ladies had 38 points, with Claire Vaughan awarded second place on countback, just ahead of Joan Stevenson.

There was a Kirby Course 18-hole medal and Madge Whitehead was the winner with a nett score of 57.

Jan Harrison came in second with 61.

Four people finished with netts of 62, with Rod Johnson awarded third place on countback.

Finally, Frinton's juniors played a Youth Shield match against Colchester and won it 3/2.
