WITHAM TOWN, MALDON AND TIPTREE and BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT all booked their places in the first qualifying round of the FA Trophy.

The most dramatic victory came at Witham, were there were two goals in the dying embers of the game as the hosts pipped Aveley 2-1.

Nathan Koranteng put them in front, midway through the first half, but Perry Dunn popped up with a leveller for the Millers on 90 minutes.

It looked like the sides would have to meet again in a replay, until Elliot Ronto grabbed a last-gasp winner for Adam Flint’s men.

Witham now travel to Biggleswade Town in the first qualifying round on October 29.

Maldon won 3-1 at home to Great Wakering Rovers to set up an intriguing trip to Billericay Town.

Rhys Henry broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark, finding the back of the net with an effort that somehow squirmed through the keeper’s hands.

Sam Newson doubled the lead just before half-time, converting after a slick counter-attack.

And Adam Mills made it three soon after the restart, turning his marker and firing into the corner of the net after a cross from Newson.

Wakering refused to wave the white flag and Billy Johnson pulled one back with a superb free-kick, on 55 minutes.

Elsewhere, Aaron Condon continued his red-hot goal-scoring streak in BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT’S tie at home to Dereham Town.

The striker shot through the keeper’s legs after Phil Kelly charged down a clearance from one of the Dereham defenders.

It was his 12th goal of the season and his 11th in ten games, since the turn of September.

Ryan Crisp levelled just before half-time but skipper Matt Cripps scored a brilliant winner from 30 yards after 79 minutes.

Regent now travel to Metropolitan Police.

Much to their annoyance, HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS received a bye into the first qualifying round and therefore had no game on Saturday.

Boss Jody Brown was annoyed that his side missed out on potential prize money, in addition to gate receipts and bar takings had they been drawn at home.

Swifts will travel to Kings Langley for their first qualifying round appointment on October 29.
