SAM Sadler won the Secretary's Trophy at Five Lakes.

On a very chilly day, 48 golfers took part in this gents' 18-hole stableford, from the white tees on the championship Lakes course.

Four players returned 35 points and they were Trevor Harris, John Mayle, Mark Harlow and Dave Parkins.

Harry Clover (7) came in with a respectable 36 points to be just outside the main prizes.

Third place went Ian Cottee (8), with 37 points, while second slot went to Clive Taylor (13), with 39.

However, the winner of the 2016 trophy was Sadler, with a worthy 40 points.

Birdie twos were won by Dave Woodley, on the fourth, Richard Hardy-King and Mark Snoad, on the eighth, Ian Cottee, claiming a pair on both the 11th and 16th holes, and Phil Roblin, also on the long 16th.
