THERE was an early confrontation between the reigning champions and their main title rivals in division one of the Clacton and District League.

And it was the challengers from Windsor Condors who came out on top, 6-4, against champions Nomads Panthers.

Colin Stallwood’s three wins for Windsor were all secured in three-straight but Greg Green’s pair were harder-won 11-8 in the fifth victories against both John Hatley and Colin Webber.

Sam Hume took two for the Panthers.

Windsor Eagles’ winning start continued with a 7-3 result against a Walton B side playing reserve Rivhu Khan.

There were two each for Windsor’s Fred Button, Phil Smith and Sue Welham and also for Walton’s Gavin Price.

Alan Burgess stayed undefeated for Brotherhood C but two each for Gracie Edwards, Martin Edwards and John Owen saw Brotherhood B to a 6-4 success.

Derek Willis’ maximum in Walton C’s 8-2 victory over Windsor Kestrels included an 11-9 in the fifth win against John Harvey.

Jason Gale and Paul Meikle contributed a couple each while Bob Sawyer took the Kestrels’ two points.
