FC CLACTON assistant boss Mark White says his side must cut out silly defensive mistakes.

The Seasiders have made a bright start to the Thurlow Nunn League season and are unbeaten in their opening three matches, in addition to being safely through to the next round of the FA Cup.

However, they were disappointed by the nature of the equaliser they conceded in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Walsham-le-Willows.

And ahead of another home match tonight, against newly-promoted Long Melford, White is hoping his team learn from their mistakes.

“To become a good side in this league, we have to cut out those errors,” said White, who works alongside first-team boss David Coyle.

“Teams should have to work hard for goals they score against us, but we handed it on a plate to Walsham.

“It’s definitely something we need to look at, but we’re still unbeaten in five (three in the league, two in cup competitions).

“There are definitely positives."

Elsewhere tonight, BRANTHAM ATHLETIC travel to Felixstowe & Walton United.

The Imps hit the goal trail in Saturday’s 7-3 success at home to Thetford.

However, they face a tough task tonight.

Stanway Rovers’ weekend defeat at Godmanchester Rovers has left Felixstowe and Norwich United as the only sides in the division still with 100 per cent league records.

Division one leaders HALSTEAD TOWN make the short trip to BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES.
