A large field competed for the Forrester Park men’s 36-hole club championship in fine conditions with the course playing well.

The winner and the 2015 club champion was Nick Proctor was a score of gross 150, with Jason Bezant having the best handicap score of nett 137.

Peter Waknell won the 14+ scratch prize with a score of gross 173.

The best scores in the morning were recorded by Steve Pettitt, gross 75, and Kevin Myers, nett 65, and in the afternoon Jim Chisholm, gross 74, and David Gillespie, nett 66.

All four sections of the club were involved in the competition for the Sadler Shield as teams from the men’s, veterans’, ladies’ and juniors played a cumulative stableford with variations in handicap and tee positions to level the playing field.

The winners were the veterans with 258 points, with the men’s team in second place on 251 points and the ladies third with 243.

The veterans’ August medal was played in wonderful conditions and resulted in some excellent scores.

Phil Prior won the gold division with nett 66, with Steve King second place on nett 68.

Gerry Dixon won the silver division with nett 68 with Les Wilsher in second on nett 69.

John Sutton won the bronze division with nett 66 with Barry Trickett in second place on nett 67.

The ladies also played their August medal with Maggie Laws winning the first division with nett 68.

Jane Collier was second with nett 74.

The second division was won by Jan Collier, with nett 72, from Val Cummins, nett 74, and a countback was required for the third division to decide that Marian Brunt took first place from Rosemary Garrod, both with nett 74.
