CLACTON faced Basildon in the Essex League and won 15-8.
They were up against opposition that has caused them problems in recent years.
Clacton often start slowly but, on this occasion, they got into their stride from the first whistle and scored two quick goals through captain James Fry.
By the end of the first quarter, they had built a dominant 4-1 lead.
Basildon fought back in the second period and matched the visitors goal for goal, as the Seasiders moved 7-4 ahead.
The third quarter was also even, but Clacton’s experience began to tell in the final period, with six goals scored and only two in reply, making the final score 15-8.
