Sanchez Watt will leave Colchester United this summer after the club decided against offering him a new contract.

The former Arsenal winger is now looking for a new club, following the U's decision to release him.

Watt joined Colchester from the Gunners in September 2012, initially on loan.

The 24-year-old joined the U's permanently in the summer of 2013 and went on to make more than 50 appearances for the U's.

But Watt struggled to hold down a starting place under boss Tony Humes.

And he managed only four appearances in the calendar year, with his final game for Colchester coming in their 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Crewe Alexandra, in February.

Meanwhile, academy defender Kevin Lokko has also been released by Colchester.

The former Norwich City youngster had been on the fringes of the U's squad before suffering an injury which ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Humes has wasted no time in reshaping his squad for the new season, with Watt and Lokko following Magnus Okuonghae, Jabo Ibehre, Sean Clohessy and Dominic Smith out of the exit door at the Weston Homes Community Stadium over recent times.
