Discovery Triathlon Club’s Oliver Swallow has jetted to Portugal for winter training with Great Britain’s leading triathlon coaches.
Swallow, one of this country’s highly-rated junior triathletes, took part in a strict programme designed to prepare him for another gruelling year of competition.
The triathletes were under the instruction of some of Great Britain’s top coaches, who train Olympic and World champions.
They undertook all four triathlon disciplines of swim-bike- run and transitions, starting at 6am and finishing at 9pm.
Swallow’s winter training in Portugal capped another impressive year for the youngster.
His dedication, disciplined training and competitive podium performances have further confirmed his reputation as a talented young competitor.
He won the Junior Elite title at the World’s Largest Triathlon in London and was again selected for the Triathlon England Junior Male Talent squad.
And earlier this month, he was selected as an Active Essex Inspired Athlete and Ambassador to promote sport across the county.
