Dominic Vose is adamant out-of-sorts Colchester United can rediscover their spark and stay in League One.
The U’s have endured a miserable run of four straight defeats and only goal difference is keeping them above the relegation trapdoor.
However, Vose feels sure there is enough quality to get back on track and clamber away from danger.
And he hopes the fightback starts on Saturday, when Colchester make a crunch trip to basement boys Stevenage.
“I’m 100 per cent confident we’ll stay up, because there’s no way we should be in the situation we’re in,” said the former Barnet midfielder, who started his professional career with Fulham and then West Ham.
“We’re ten times better than the sides below us, even though our current performances and results may say differently.
“But I’m sure we’ve got enough to keep out of the relegation places and the boys are confident."
