Maldon and Tiptree learn a valuable lesson

MALDON and Tiptree assistant boss Jody Brown believes his side have learnt a valuable lesson heading into Saturday’s match at Redbridge.

The Park Drive side are top of Ryman League division one north and will start as red-hot favourites for their trip to Oakside.

However, they were given a major scare after “hanging on for dear life” to beat basement boys Ware 4-3 last Saturday.

And Brown is keen to ensure there are no repeats against more struggling opposition this weekend.

“We’ve got to go there and do a professional job,” he said.

“We hope and expect to win and if we start properly and impose ourselves we should be able to get the points.

“But we can’t under-estimate them and hopefully we won’t make the same mistakes we did last weekend.

“Collectively, we need to learn and by saying that I’m including both the players and management team."

Maldon lost 3-0 at home in the Ryman League Cup against premier division side Bury Town on Tuesday night.
