Spillane dreaming of an FA Cup adventure
5:27pm Thursday 6th September 2012 in Sport By Matt Plummer
TERRY Spillane wants his Maldon and Tiptree players to “live the dream” and sample an FA Cup adventure.
The Park Drive boss was in charge of Redbridge last season and guided them to the second-round proper, before losing against Crawley Town.
They found themselves firmly in the spotlight, with attention from the national press, Sky TV and the BBC.
Now Spillane is hoping for more of the same as his Maldon side prepare for Saturday’s first-qualifying round tie at Soham Town Rangers.
“I’d love to do it again,” said Spillane, whose team had no problems getting past London APSA in the preliminary round, winning 9-1.
“They were special memories because we were treated like royalty and lived the dream.
“Now I’d absolutely love to experience something similar with Maldon.”
