Ramblers prepare for a tough start to their Essex Senior League campaign

BURNHAM Ramblers boss Keith Wilson believes his side face the toughest possible start when they kick-off their Essex Senior League campaign at Enfield 1893 on Saturday.

But he says that if his team can pull off a surprise win against one of the title contenders, it would give them a “massive boost” for the season ahead.

Ramblers continued their preparation with a 3-1 victory at Harold Wood on Saturday and Wilson says his side are ready for the challenge of a tricky trip to Goldsdown Road.

“Our first fixture could hardly be any tougher,” said the Leslie Field boss.

“Enfield are always there or thereabouts and I consider them title contenders.

“They’ve got new management and new players, so we know we’re in for a difficult afternoon.

“They’re one of the fancied sides but we’ll go there and give it our best shot."
