No rash decisions at Park Drive
2:01pm Thursday 21st June 2012 in Sport
MALDON and Tiptree assistant boss Jody Brown says he and manager Terry Spillane will not make any rash judgements on the squad they have inherited at Park Drive.
The pair have recently taken over and immediately arranged a get-together, to meet their players for the first time.
Brown admits they have targets, in terms of potential new signings, but will not be making snap decisions on the players from last season.
“We’ve met the players now and got some decent feedback,” said Brown, previously manager at Tiptree United.
“But we don’t really know them yet so it would be harsh to make any big decisions.
“We want to get them back in pre-season training first and start working with them.
“No-one has said they won’t be returning, although obviously you have gut feelings about certain people.”
Brown is confident new signings will follow soon – but they won’t be going public on arrivals until they have officially put pen to paper on official Ryman League forms.
“We’re talking to potential signings and are confident we’ll get them,” he said.
