DALE Whitnell’s dreams of a place on next year’s PGA European Tour were dashed as the Tiptree golfer failed to qualify for the final stage of the Tour Qualifying School.
The 21-year-old Five Lakes member was in a tie for 29th place at the second stage event at the Hacienda Del Alamos course in Murcia in Spain.
He fired rounds of 70, 73,73 and 70 for a two-under total, but, with only 19 players progressing to the final stage this weekend from each of the four second-stage venues, Whitnell fell three shots short of his target.
