A stunning last-minute strike from Danny Jones gave Burnham Ramblers the victory their second half display deserved, at Stansted.

The manager will be pleased with the way his team twice came back from behind.

Playing up the small slope in the first half, Burnham looked the more likely side and Jones nearly got on the end of long ball, just being foiled by a defender.

A corner saw a chance fall to Woodards but his effort was sliced wide.

Then, from a free kick on the edge of Ramblers box,the ball was played wide and the cross headed past McCartney to put the home side ahead.

Jones then struck the bar after an exquisite piece of control, but Ramblers equalised right on the break, Woodards stabbing home a headed on long throw.

In the second period Burnham poured forward, getting the ball wide and delivering a number of good crosses into an increasingly beleaguered home goalmouth.

Great skill from Paul Carr on the left nearly saw him in on goal and a Danny Muir cross saw full back Macgowan Jones go close to his first Ramblers goal.

Then on 65 minutes a Stansted breakaway saw a long ball catch out the Burnham defence and Taylor ran on to score with his side's only shot of the half.

Back came Ramblers and a corner led to a goalmouth scramble, from which Barrows lashed in the equaliser.

Still Burnham pushed on and, with time running out, Macgowan Jones sent Danny Jones down the left and he cut inside the defender before unleashing a 20-yard curler to win the game 3-2.

Next Saturday Ramblers are at home to Barking, who, though in second place, have suddenly lost their manager and several players to Aveley.
