Despite the League season being over, Tillingham Cricket Club continue to put two sides out each weekend.

On Saturday, they visited the picturesque ground at East Hanningfield where they won convincingly.

Tillingham were asked to bat first on a lively wicket and struggled at first, but the middle order turned things around with Jim Chapman (43) and Jon Butterwick (48) the top run scorers in a total of 185 for 9.

Tillingham's George Parlour then claimed five wickets for 39 in ten overs as the home side was bowled out for 142 in the 36th over. Tom Ford and Andy Mee both took a couple of wickets to complete a fine win against strong opposition.

The Sunday side also came up against a strong side, in particular Westcliff's opening batsman, who scored a century in their total of 233 for 8.

Dave Cummins (8-1-34-2) and Tom Ford (8-0-36-2) were the pick of the bowlers as the visitors amassed an impressive score.

Tillingham never looked like matching Westcliff's big hitting, but Ford made a very creditable 70 runs and Joss Corby 29 not out as the home side finished their 40 overs with the score on 191 for 8.
