MALDON Rugby Club sent two under-eight teams to Allianz Park - the home of Saracens - to take part in the Workfare and Honesty Festival.

Both sides had a terrific day, despite awful weather conditions that made handling and footwork difficult.

As usual, the children were a huge credit to the club and their parents.

Despite the rain, they went about their business and played some stunning rugby that drew applause from opposition coaches and parents alike.

The team also looked the part, donning their brand new kits, sponsored by local business Endeavor Drilling.

Both sides came away from the day with equally impressive and identical results.

Maldon Tigers won three of their four matches, as did the Maldon Bears.

Sixteen players made the trip and the Maldon Tigers team consisted of Emma Degiorgio, Toby Wilson, Elliott Rose, Fraser Howell, Liam Hunter, Zachery Luscombe, Jacob Jepson and Thomas McHugh.

The Maldon Bears team was made up of Caiden Dunn, Alex Jones, Freddie Beames, Tom Parsons, Hudson Williams, Hugh Gavin, Oscar Tooke and Noah Gaskill.
