All set - junior, senior and vet riders at the starting line in the first of Maldon and District Cycle Club's evening cyclo cross races.
MORE than 60 riders battled it out as Maldon and District Cycle Club held the first of their evening cyclo cross races.
The under-12 race was won by Lea Valley Youth Cycle Club's Max Rethman, with Matthew Dodsworth the highest-placed Maldon rider in fourth place.
Harry Wood was the highest-placed Maldon rider in the under-14 race after finishing fourth overall, in a race won by Fred Gill of Chelmer Cycle Club.
In the combined junior/senior and vets race, junior Kieran Jarvis of St Ives CC was first ahead of Colchester Rovers' Stuart Weathersley who was second overall and the first senior finisher.
Kurt Minter was the highest-placed Maldon rider, finishing in eighth place and the first vet 50+ finisher.
