EIGHT Dengie 100 Runners competed in the last race of the Maldon Handicap Series.

Wendy Aldridge finished in 21 minutes and 56 seconds, Glenn Mapes in 22m 31s, Jo McDonnell in 22m 58s, Richard Carvey in 54m 45s, Steve Houghton in 24m 46s, Louise Hart in 26m, Barbara McDonnell in 26m 35s and Vicky Dash in 26m 46s.

Unfortunately, Chris McDonnell was injured and unable to race.

Meanwhile, five members took part in the fourth race of the Essex Cross-Country Series, at Hadleigh Country Park.

William Radley clocked 42m 13s, Richard Carvey 58m 33s, Louise Hart 1h 42s, Kevan Peaker 1h 4m 26s and Dionne Radley 1h 6m 50s.

Samantha Boshell, Clare Bendall and Richard Carvey took part in the Hatfield Peverel 6.9-mile trail run, hosted by Mid Essex Casuals.

As normal, the route is navigated by written instructions and runners tend to stop off at various places to admire the scenery and take photos - hence the time to complete the route was 1h 33m.
