SEVEN Dengie 100 Runners took part in the fourth Maldon handicap 5k race, hosted by Tiptree Road Runners.
It took place around Maldon Promenade Park.
Although the evening was warm, it was not as bad as the previous few days had been.
Stephen Sawyer came in first with a time of 20 minutes and two seconds, followed by Chris McDonnel (20m 37s), Lydia Bazzard (21m 58s), Richard Carvey (24m 48s), Barbara McDonnell (26m 9s), Louise Hart (27m 59s) and Vicki Dash (29m 14s).
In addition, Carvey took part in the Kirste Five memorial race, hosted by Benfleet Runners.
All profits from this event are shared equally between Macmillan Cancer Support and Bosom Pals Southend Breast Cancer Unit.
The race started near to Grove Wood Primary School and consisted of running along field edges, some track and through Hockley Woods, returning through Cherry Orchard Jubilee Park, New England Wood, Grove Wood and finishing on the school playing fields.
The event was very well-marshalled and had a great atmosphere.
Despite tripping over in one of the woods, he finished in a time of 47m 14s.
