RUSSELL Smith and Sam Sadler were victorious in Five Lakes Golf Club's Allan Riches Memorial Trophy.

They registered 23 points on their front nine and followed that up with 22 points on the back nine, to win the 18-hole four-ball better ball competition.

A large field turned out to compete in the trophy on a glorious morning, with scoring quite high for this competitive competition.

Lee Stafford and Doug Wood were runners-up with 21 points on their back nine holes.

They finished ahead of Chris Graham and Dan Lambert on countback, after the two groups finished with 45 points.

Mark Harlow and Charlie Powell came in with 44 points, to finish just outside the main prizes.

Two groups registered 43 points - Malcolm Pook and Paul Bowers and Steve and Trevor Harris.

The trophy for the highest nett score for a junior was won by Jay Biagoni.

A total of 12 players won birdie balls for twos on the par threes, which were played from the white tees.
