DENGIE 100 Runner Richard See ventured to Stratford-upon-Avon to celebrate 400 years since William Shakespeare's death.

Over 3,500 participants marked the occasion in the Rotary Shakespeare Marathon and Half-Marathon.

See took part in the half-marathon and clocked one hour, 50 minutes and 25 seconds.

Meanwhile, Richard Carvey and Steve Houghton took part in the London Marathon.

The weather was perfect and both men, in their distinctive green Dengie 100 running kit, worked through the field of over 35,000 runners.

The many weeks of training served both well as they finished just outside Buckingham Palace.

The Dengie 100 Runners were supported all around the course by club-mates, work colleagues and family.

Houghton finished in 4h 16m and Carvey in 4h 54m.

Houghton raised nearly £1,500 for his charities, Children With Cancer and St Luke’s Hospice, and would like to thank all those that sponsored him.

In the Maldon Parkrun, Lydia Bazzard finished 14th overall and first lady, finishing in 22m 10s.
