IN-FORM Peter Gee enjoyed a double success as Five Lake Golf Club's seniors contested the Greene King Pairs Shield.
Players struggled to return scores approaching par on the waterlogged fairways on the Lakes course, after recent heavy rains
Only seven of the field managed to card individual scores above 30 points, in the aggregate stableford drawn pairs competition.
But Gee mastered the testing conditions best, after returning an individual 38 points.
He finished well clear of Ken Diddams and Richard Taylor in second place with 34 points.
Gee also partnered current seniors captain David Barbour to win the pairs competition with a total of 65 stableford points.
Bryan Thompson with 33 points and Ron Colbert (31 points) were runners-up with 64 points.
Results: 1 Peter Gee and David Barbour 65 points; 2 Ron Colbert and Bryan Thompson 64; 3 Mick Phillis and Richard Taylor 60; 4 Ken Diddams and John Ramplin 58; 5 Ken Laight and Clive Jenner 57; 6 Paul Raymond and Martin Measor 51.
The nearest the pin competition was won by David Barbour on the eight hole and Ken Diddams on the 11th.
