BURNHAM Ramblers boss Keith Wilson is expecting a tough match at the weekend.
The Leslie Field side host third-placed Barking in an Essex Senior League encounter on Saturday.
The match comes on the back of Burnham’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Clapton last weekend and their 5-0 loss against Takeley on Tuesday night.
Ramblers will be looking to bounce back from these two defeats, but Wilson knows it will be a difficult prospect.
Wilson said: “Barking have won eight of their last ten league matches.
“They are flying high and are going great guns at the moment.
“It’s going to be a tough game for us and a good test for our players.
“But after Saturday we don’t play any of the top six or seven for a while.
“So it will be a good chance for us to, hopefully, get a run together.”
Wilson wasn’t in charge for Tuesday night’s heavy defeat at Takeley but Saturday’s defeat against visiting Clapton was a disappointing result for the Burnham boss.
Especially as they had defeated the same opposition 3-2 the previous Tuesday in the Essex Senior League Challenge Cup.
Wilson said: “It wasn’t good enough on Saturday.
“The conditions were awful but that’s no excuse.
“They’ve gone and won the game without really having a shot on target – their first goal was an own goal.
“We didn’t take our chances and it was disappointing but we move on.”
