FORRESTER Park Golf Club celebrated its 40th anniversary and each section played an anniversary competition.

The ladies event was won by Dawn Marriott with 33 points, beating Margaret Triston on countback.

Maggie Lintner was third, one shot behind.

The veterans’ competition was won by Chris Williams, who beat Peter Gamester and David Reynolds on countback, all with 42 points.

The men’s Anniversary competition was won by Matt Bunting with 44 points, beating Chris Collins on countback.

Peter Waknell was third with 42 points.

The competition incorporated the Captains’ Challenge Trophy for past and current club captains, which was won by John Price with 41 points, who will hold the Captains’ Bowl for the current year.

The veterans played a yellow ball four-man team game where the yellow ball was played by each member of the team in rotation and counted double points.

The winning team was made up of David Ayres, David Curtis, Gerald Pearson and Colin Place who scored 128 points.

The team of John Bloomfield, Terry Shuttleworth, Peter Waknell and Keith Whipp were second with122 points.

Mike Manning, Dennis Morley, Ken Bilby and Roy Valentine were third with 119.
